Privacy policy.
Who we are
We are Beenacle Technologies Private Limited ("Beenacle", "we", "us"), a WordPress studio incorporated in India and operating worldwide. This policy describes what personal information we collect when you visit beenacle.com or engage us for work, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
If you have questions about anything below, write to [email protected].
What we collect
We collect only as much as we need. Some of it you give us directly. Some is collected automatically when you use the site:
- Brief submissions. Name, email, company or project, project type, budget, and the message you write. Submitted through the contact form or by email. The contact form emails your brief to us and saves a copy on the website, along with your browser, operating system, the page you sent it from, and the time. We don't save your IP address with it. A Cloudflare Turnstile check on the form helps screen out spam.
- Project work. Once you become a client, additional information needed to do the work: hosting credentials, access to your existing site, brand assets, content drafts. We treat this as confidential.
- Site analytics. Google Analytics 4 records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. It also records some actions, such as scrolling, clicking a link to another site, or sending a form. It collects this under a random ID, and we view it in aggregate reports. Microsoft Clarity records how you use each page, such as mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling, and lets us replay visits so we can see where the site confuses people. Text you type into form fields is masked, so Clarity doesn't capture it. We do not link either to your name.
- Server logs. Kinsta (our host) and Cloudflare keep standard logs of each request to the site, including your IP address, browser, the page requested, and the time.
- Missing pages. If you land on a page that doesn't exist, we log the address you asked for, the page that linked to it, your browser details, and the time, so we can fix broken links. This log does not include IP addresses.
- Cookies. Strictly necessary cookies for the site to function, analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, and third-party cookies set by the Clutch review widget and Microsoft. See Cookies below.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Reply to your inquiry and discuss whether we're a fit for your project.
- Deliver the work you've engaged us for.
- Understand which parts of the site are useful, and improve them.
- Keep the site secure and block spam.
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, ever. We do not use it for advertising or remarketing.
Who we share it with
A small list of service providers that help us run the studio and this site:
- Hosting: Kinsta, for the site you're reading and the website copy of your brief.
- Security and delivery: Cloudflare. All traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare, which speeds up delivery and helps block attacks. It also runs the Turnstile spam check on the contact form, which looks at your browser and IP address. Its cookie-free Web Analytics script measures visits and page speed.
- Email: Google Workspace, for our inbox and the conversation that follows your brief.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (no advertising signals; GA4 does not store IP addresses) and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings, with typed text masked).
- Reviews: Clutch. The review widget in the footer of every page loads from clutch.co, so Clutch receives the page you're on, your IP address, and browser details.
- Author photos: Gravatar, run by Automattic. Blog posts load the author's photo from gravatar.com, so your browser contacts Gravatar when you read a post.
- Project management: Notion, for active client work.
Each has its own privacy policy. We share only what each one needs.
How long we keep it
Brief submissions are retained for two years from the last contact, then deleted. This covers both the email in our inbox and the copy saved on the website. Active client records are retained for the duration of the engagement and seven years afterward (to meet accounting requirements). Server logs are kept by Kinsta and Cloudflare under their own retention periods.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, port, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] from the address you contacted us with. We respond within 30 days.
If you're in the EU/UK and unhappy with our response, you can lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA (right to know, delete, and opt out of sale). We don't sell personal information to anyone, full stop. Indian residents may also exercise rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Cookies
This site uses three kinds of cookies:
- Strictly necessary. For the site to function and stay secure. Cloudflare sets __cf_bm, which helps tell people from bots and expires after 30 minutes. If Cloudflare asks you to pass a security check, it may also set cf_clearance. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics. Set by Google Analytics 4 (cookies starting with _ga) and Microsoft Clarity (_clck and _clsk), so we can see which pages are useful and where visitors get stuck. We don't use them for advertising, and we don't link them to your name.
- Third-party. Through Clarity, Microsoft may set its own identifier cookies on clarity.ms and bing.com. The Clutch review widget sets cookies on clutch.co. We can't read these cookies. Microsoft and Clutch use them under their own privacy policies.
Analytics cookies currently load by default. You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time using Google's opt-out browser add-on. To stop Clarity, use a tracker blocker in your browser. You can also block cookies in your browser settings. The site works the same without analytics cookies.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. For clients on active engagements, we'll also email you.
